PERU BALSAM | Essential Oil
Pure Myroxylon balsamum essential oil.
Myroxylon finds its origin in the Greek language, where it signifies "fragrant wood." True to its etymology, Peru Balsam essential oil has a rich, honeyed, and balsamic aroma with soft woody nuances. This aromatic resin has been used by Indigenous populations for centuries; its earliest recorded use dating back to ancient Mayan culture, where it was burned as ceremonial incense. It contains high levels of naturally occurring vanilin, lending the resin its distinct vanilla-like aroma.
